So tomorrow I will start my tenth week of pregnancy! I can't believe I am a quarter of the way through my pregnancy...I seriously feel like it was just yesterday that I found out we would be welcoming a new addition to our family! I wanted to post a picture of my belly but I have yet to take one...I rarely get "dressed" and don't feel like having my picture taken in my pajama pants! I have several things going on this weekend that require me to get out of my sweats so I will try to remember to have my husband snap a pic of my belly!

So I have a question...Josh and I are dying to know the sex of this sweet baby! I'm sure you can all guess that we are hoping for a boy since we already have two precious little girls...my question is...
has anyone ever taken the Gender Prediction test that you can buy at Walmart or Walgreens?? I looked it up online a few days ago and it said that it is best to take it around your tenth week so I was thinking about doing it next week...I am just curious to know if it actually gives correct results or not?? I'm not going to go out and start buying pink or blue based on the results...I just really want to have an "idea"...

As of now Kiley, my mom and I are all saying BOY!
I was SO sick with both of my girls...constant sickness for FIVE months...HORRIBLE! I haven't felt great with this one but 100 times better than with the other two!
With both of the girls I was in maternity clothes by 10-12 weeks...I am currently still wearing my size 2 jeans...as I type this!! I do have a "pooch" by the end of the day but nothing like before!
According to the Chinese calendar...it is a boy!
Kiley has said she was having a brother since we told her I was pregnant!

These are all just little things and right now I really have no idea what the little bean is...as long as it is healthy I will be happy with whatever God decides to give us!

Let me know if any of you have done the gender test or have heard anything about it!

So I got a call this morning around 10 asking me if I could be at the doctor for my sonogram by 11...I blurted out the words...YES...after which I remembered that my husband had taken my tahoe to work because his car couldn't make it in the snow...ooops! Anyways...my mom came to the rescue...once again...and made sure that I made it! She's great!

As I laid there on the table I honestly felt like I was going to pass out. For the past two weeks I have been wondering what was going to happen with this pregnancy but there was a certain about of hope in the not knowing the for sure answer...I have been in what feels like a constant state of prayer on behalf of my pregnancy and the well being of my unborn child. This is the moment I had been waiting for....

I laid there squeezing my husbands hand with my eyes closed...he and the tech knew I didn't want to look...right as my husband told me to open my eyes I heart a HEARTBEAT over the speaker...my baby's heartbeat!! At 133 bpm to be exact! I started crying...what an emotional mess I am! I have never been so happy to hear that noise in my life! Just two weeks ago I was told that my pregnancy might not be viable and that I might lose the baby and there I was listening to and watching its little heart beat! God is so amazing! I am so thankful for both of my girls but this baby will forever be my MIRACLE BABY! It still looks sort of "tadpolish"...but it has sweet little arm buds that will soon be waving at me and a bit of a tail...which will soon be turning into wonderful soccer playing legs! I love that little "thing"...we are going to name it tonite...I feel bad calling it an "it"!

So here's the deal...I am seven and a half weeks...due at the beginning of September!

I don't really know of anyone who reads my blog but I know there have to be a few of you out there...as my blog counter goes higher and higher everyday! Well to those of you that I know and to those that I don't....thank you so much for your support and prayers!

I will be sure to keep everyone updated as things progress...probably with more updates than you would like but...you don't have to read them all!!

I just wanted to let everyone know that my sonogram was canceled on Friday due to the bad weather...AKA...blizzard that we had at the end of the week! BUMMER! Anyways, I am supposed to call first thing on Monday morning to reschedule so hopefully I will get in sometime at the beginning of the week...keeping my fingers crossed!

I don't even know if anyone is followng my blog but if you are...I hated to keep you hanging through the weekend wondering what was going on! I would have posted this yesterday but we have been a bit busy around here...the whole city shut down due to the weather and we couldn't even get my Tahoe out of the driveway...needless to say, we were seriously SNOWED IN! That didn't stop us from getting out tho...we spent the day sledding, playing on the four wheeler and frolicking in the snow! What a wonderful thing to keep my mind off of the baby situation!

Hope everyone is having a good weekend! I am off to watch Miss America!

So my sonogram got moved up to this Friday...that's right...THIS FRIDAY! I have mixed emotions about it though...I want to know what the outcome is going to be but I am worried about what that outcome might be. I am beside myself right now...

And not to mention...we are expecting the biggest snow storm in TEN years tomorrow! I went to the store today and stocked the fridge, freezer and pantry in case we can't get out for a few days. And that worries me too...what if I can't make it to the sonogram bacause of the weather...oh the agony of having to wait over the weekend and who knows how long next week!

Okay, I feel better now! I am going to rest, watch my shows on DVR while Lily sleeps and eat some chocolate covered pretzels!

So tomorrow will be one week since my last sonogram...and unfortunately I have one more week to go before I can find anything out. The past week has definitely gone by faster than I thought it would be I have had my "ups and downs". I find myself constantly looking at the calendar and going over my dates, looking on the internet for stories similar to mine that have a good outcome and praying that the baby is already flipping around with a strong heart! I try to keep my mind off of it but it is just about impossible! I am trying to fill my days with reading books to Lily, puzzles and building with Kiley, keeping the house picked up and keeping good food in our tummies!!

Kiley starts gymnastics tomorrow and has school on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. I am helping host a baby shower on Saturday for a good friend who is expecting a boy in March and we will have dinner at my in-laws on Sunday night so hopefully this next week will fly by quickly without too many emotional days...those are super draining!

Thanks again for all the prayers...I am so blessed to have such wonderful friends and family!

Things have been such a whirlwind lately. We had a wonderful Christmas and New Year! We celebrated my sweet Kiley's fifth birthday on January 6 and my husband turned 32 on January 17! In the middle of all of this, Josh and I found out that I was pregnant...SUPRISE! We had discussed having another baby but we were in no way trying to get pregnant. Evidentally God's plan previals and His timing is not ours! Once the shock wore off, Josh and I were so excited at the thought of having another baby! We told the girls and Kiley was ecstatic! She kept telling Lily that she was going to be a big sister just like her! My girls really melt my heart...they are just so precious!

I started having some cramping and low back pain but didn't think too much about it since I was not bleeding. I called the doctor to see if it was normal and they wanted me to come in for a sonogram to make sure I wasn't having a tubal pregnancy. What happened next I was not prepared for. This is my third pregnancy so I know what to look for on the screen during a sonogram. I saw a black hole (gestational sac) with only a tiny dot inside...what the nurse called an "unidentifiable spot". According to how far I think I should be...I would have been 6 to 7 weeks but according to the measurements and the fact that there was no baby or heartbeat I was only between 4 and 5 weeks. I seriously thought I was going to pass out...i just knew something didn't look right. I was told that either my dates are wrong or that the baby was not developing and that I am going to lose the pregnancy. I lost it...I did. My first thoughts were "how do we find out"..."what needs to be done"..."I need an answer NOW"!! I was told that only time can tell and to come back in two weeks for another sonogram and hopefully my dates are off and at that point we should be able to see a yolk sac and hopefully a heartbeat. TWO WEEKS...are you kidding me! They said that cramping can sometimes be a warning sign and that I need to take it easy, drink a lot of water and rest...with TWO kids!

I went home that evening and cried and cried and cried! I can't even grasp the reality that my baby may not make it. I begged and pleaded with God to heal the baby and let this be a normal pregnancy. I am praying with all of my heart that my dates are off and that the next sonogram will show a healthy pregnancy. I am trying to think positive but I also know in the back of my mind that something could be wrong. I have never felt so helpless in my life...this is something I have no control over and all I want is for the baby to be okay. I have had to give this completely to God...afterall...He is the one kniting this sweet baby inside of me!

Please be praying for Josh and I and the baby! We are in desperate need of strength and peace as we wait to find out what the outcome will be. I hesitated sharing this with anyone but the way I see it...the more people praying the better! Thank you so much!

I don't have any pics to post today...I took some of the girls last night in front of the tree and a few today while we were out shopping with my dad BUT I have yet to learn how to use the card reader for my new camera so...maybe I will ask my husband to show me tonite!!

We have been busy little elfs the last few days...buying the last of the gifts for my husband and my parents...I can't say what they are because I know my parents read this and it has to be a suprise BUT I will take pics and show you after Christmas day! I have a feeling they are going to be a big hit!!

As I sit here typing this...it just started snowing! Nothing like snow to get you ready for Christmas!

I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas! I know it is being much anticipated around our house...Kiley can't wait for Santa but keeps reminding us that Christmas is about Jesus! Josh and I don't need to be reminded but I am SO glad that she understands the true meaning of Christmas! And Lily...well she just likes all the pretty ornaments and boxes...and as far as Santa goes...she is TERRIFIED of him!

Has anyone been wondering where we have been lately?

Well for those of you that do...we are still here!

This is a crazy time of the year for us..
we have been super busy decorating for Christmas, sipping on hot chocolate, cuddling by the fire, reading Christmas books and watching all of our Christmas favorites!

This season always seems to fly by and I wish it would stick around forever!

There is not much to update on for the time being!

Kiley is doing wonderful in pre-school and had her last day today for the next three weeks...oh

my! Lily had her monthly weight check today and has actually lost weight since last month so we start feeding therapy again next week...hopefully they will be more aggressive this time and not release us until she is on the right track with her eating! So for now we will just be comfortable with her being below the negative fifth percentile for her weight and will hope for weight gain next month...even if it is only a few ounces! My heart sank today when I saw the scale...I just knew she had gained...WRONG!

Tonite we went to get hot chocolate and look at Christmas lights with my in-laws...Kiley was asleep 10 minutes into our adventure and Lily enjoyed herself for about 30 minutes....making the last hour miserable! But the poor baby does have a bacteria infection in her eyes and nose so that could have contributed to part of the upset!

Randomosities!!

I haven't exactly taken the time to update my blog lately....with the exception of when Lily was in the hospital! I am not the "sit down" type girl...I am always on the go, playing with the girls and trying to keep my house in some form of order!

We are now approaching my favorite time of the year! I love fall, the leaves changing colors, the cool days and the overall "air" of the holidays!

I hope everyone is enjoying the beginning of the holiday season...
it goes by SO fast!

And oh...call me crazy but I have already started listening to Christmas music...
the girls and I dance to it daily!

Home Sweet Home!

We finally got home from the hospital Monday afternoon...yay!
Lily is feeling much better and is slowly getting back to eating and drinking!
That was a long 4 days and needless to say I am glad it is over!
It was so cold and dreary while we were in the hospital, oh how I wish we would have been at home having a fire and roasting marshmallows...but I guess we will have many more cold days to come!

My parents left this morning for their 30th anniversary trip to North Carolina, I am SO jealous...I need a vacation! My mom has been helping me take and pick up Kiley from school since Lily has been sick but my MIL is doing it today and tomorrow...that is a special treat for Kiley and she is really excited!

Kiley is taking her first field trip of the year to the Pumpkin Patch today, I really wish I could be there but I don't have anyone to watch Lily so I guess I am going to have to miss out on this one! She told me that she would pick me a really good pumpkin...what a sweetie!

I was looking at one of Kiley's school papers yesterday and it had a caterpillar and cocoon on it. I asked he what they were and she said a "patterpillar and a raccoon"...silly Kiley!

I guess that is all for now! Lily and I are looking forward to a day of hanging out at home...I probably won't even make it out of my pajama pants...and I am very okay with that!

The 411 on Miss Lily!

First I want to start by saying thanks to everyone for the thoughts, prayers and offers to help!!
I know I haven't really been able to respond to anyone on facebook...I am really just using that as a way to keep people updated, 99% of my time is being spent holding my sweet baby!

We are doing fine...just tired of being in the hospital!

So here is what's going on...
Lily started running a really high fever on Wednesday morning and it got worse throughout the day. I took her to the doctor and they were 99.9% sure she had H1N1...yikes! She also had an ear infection...which is really no big deal! I spent that night trying to keep her fever down and keep her hydrated. When she woke up on Thursday she was still running a fever and decided she wasn't going to eat or drink anything. She was pulling at her lips and tongue so I finally got a peek in her mouth, after a long game of playing with a flashlight, and she had white sores on her tongue and roof of her mouth. No wonder the baby wouldn't eat!! At this point it was too late to call the Dr. so I just decided I would wait and see how she was in the morning. She slept awful Thursday night and I called Dr. Scott first thing in the morning. She told me to bring her in at 4:30 that afternoon. She checked her out and actually reconsidered her diagnosis of H1N1 and said she had hand, foot mouth disease...it has a fancy name but I don't know how to spell or pronounce it! She said that a high fever, congestion and fussiness could be signs of both viruses and it must have been to early to see the sores on Wednesday. Lily was so dehydrated and her fever was getting worse because she was refusing to swallow tylenol or motrin :( She decided that the best thing would be to admit her and get her some fluids.

So here we are...we have been here since Friday evening and things are not improving. She has more energy since she is now hydrated but she is still refusing to eat and drink...which is the only thing that is going to get us out of here! Also, she is having a hard time maintaining her body temperature at night...it is dropping down to about 94 degrees and they don't really know why. She also has new sores on her feet...which is a sign she is still getting them in her mouth as well :( So Friday we were hoping to be going home on Saturday, Saturday we were hoping to go home today and today we are hoping to go home tomorrow!!

Once again, I wanted to update everyone on what's going on for now!
We are so blessed to have such wonderful friends and family!
And don't worry about Kiley...she is at my parents house with Daisy...happy as can be!
She will be coming up later to visit!
Lily got to see Kiley for the first time in 2 days yesterday...they just hugged and squealed...it melted my heart!

Please keep us in your prayers...Lily needs to feel better and I need some strength, this is starting to wear me out a little bit!!

Also...
This has made me SO thankful for my overall healthy girls. There are so many children battling cancers and other serious illnesses that are required to be here for many days at a time. I can't even imagine how hard that must be on them and their families. We are so blessed! Please be in prayer for all of the families that are in the hospital with sick children...the rooms up here are full!

Private?

Hi Y'all!
Has it really been over one month since I last blogged?
I thought I would post something today because if I didn't....I would have gone the whole month of September without blogging!! YIKES!!

I have had a hard time blogging lately!
I have plenty to blog about but deciding rather or not to post it has been the issue!
I am all about journaling but do I really want everyone reading it??
This brings me to my "issue"....
I love sharing things with friends and family but I have had a couple of "issues" lately that have sort of scared me....making me worry about who really could be reading my blog!
I will not be posting any pictures of the girls this time...for safety reasons....
I do not want to deprive my friends and family from reading about our lives and seeing pictures of the girls so I am considering going private....
I haven't decided for sure yet....
If you like following our family leave me a message and I will put you on the list if I decide to go private!

The girls are doing wonderful!
Kiley is finally in the routine of going to school and Lily and I are enjoying that time together!
My girls are growing so fast....I am trying to soak up each minute!
Lily is trying to say some words and I can't get enough of her voice!
And Kiley doesn't miss a thing...I realized this when she said..."like totally freaked out"...during a conversation she was having!! My word...she is a mini me!!

Cloth 101

So, as promised....here is my cloth diapering post!

I have only been doing this for about a week and a half but I have done a TON of research...
I am currently using several kinds of diapers...AIO (all in ones) and pocket diapers.
I only have a couple of the all in ones and I like them okay but prefer the pocket diapers.
The all in ones have everything you need built in which is nice, but it takes a while for these to dry and it is hard to adjust the "soakability"!!
The brand I have in these is Thirsties....I also hear that bum genius makes a good one!
I have not had any leaks with the Thirsties and if I decide to get more AIO's...I will definitely get the same kind! Lily has a lavender one and a candy pink one....they have a ton of cute colors!

Now on to the pocket diapers....
these diapers are my favorites! They have the cover and a "liner" attached and there is a pocket in the back which you stuff with inserts to absorb the pee pee and poo poo! You can use only one insert or several...depending on how heavy of a wetter you have. Lily only uses a single insert during the day and a insert with a doubler for naps. At night she uses an insert and a loopy do....a super absorbent insert...her booty looks so big but what does she care....she is sleeping!
We have used several brands of pocket diapers and I have some different ones on the way....
so far we love the bum genius and fuzzi bunz. We got 2 blueberry's in the mail today but they are in the wash now so I have yet to try them! I also have 2 happy hineys on the way...hopefully they will be here tomorrow! I hadn't planned on trying anymore for a while but they were on sale for EIGHT dollars....which is a STEAL!!

The look of the blueberry's has to be my favorite...I got one in a pink minky fabric with black dalmation spots and the other in minky purple, pink and green polka dots! But...let me just say that you pay for that cute minky fabric...these are by far the most expensive! I will have to let you know if they are worth the extra money!

I have 2 wet bags that I keep the diapers in when they are waiting to be washed, a small one for the diaper bag and a big one for the nursery. They are water proof and I haven't had any problem with smells...not yet anyways!!

I wash every other day...which isn't too bad! I do a pre-rinse with soda to get the yucky stuff rinsed out....then I do a hot wash with Allen's soap....followed by a cold rinse with vinegar....and an extra rinse with just cold water!

Cloth diapering has wonderful for us, too bad I waited this long to try....and Lily's little bum looks so cute in the diapers! Sorry I don't have pics to post...my husband loaned our camera to his best friend for his trip this weekend and my pics are on it....far away in Dallas! :(

For now I have no time.....
we are supposed to be at feeding therapy in an hour....
Lily is still asleep....
I am still in my pajamas....
the diaper bag is not packed....
my hair and makeup are not done....
and our clothes are not ironed....
BUT....
I wanted to inform you of two upcoming posts....exciting....I know!!
I have had several questions from friends about my whole cloth diapering experience so far....
what have I tried?
what have I liked?
how to wash?
just to name a few....
I decided I would to a post about it to inform everyone....
and YES....there will be pictures of my sweet Lily showing off her new duds....
she looks PRECIOUS in cloth!
She actually hasn't worn alot of clothes lately because I love seeing her in her cloth diapers!
YES...they are that cute!
And I am also going to post pics of the girls room since the new bedding is now in place!
My mom got it for them from PB kids....one of my fav stores...I can't wait to show you!

Lately.....

Lately....
I have been too busy to blog....and honestly....I have not wanted to blog!!

I was sending pictures to Walgreens a few nights ago to be printed and I thought that I should post a few on my blog....especially for friends and family who don't always get to see the girls!

Preschool will be starting for Kiley in a few weeks and I will get back into the "blogging groove"!

Here is a glimpse of what we have been doing over the last few weeks!!

Lily has become quite the Rockband player!!

Kiley went to swim lessons for two weeks and did WONDERFUL!!

Lily has gotten even better at climbing UP the slide....
still with no success of going down!

Lily has started attending Sunday school at church....

Kiley went to Tinlee's awesome birthday party....
complete with pedicures and dress up clothes!!

Kiley played in the rain!!

I had to cut Lily's hair for the first time after Kiley cut a HUGE chunk out of the back!
I was one unhappy mommy!

the night before her sister took the scissors to it:(

I got this GREAT picture of my stubborn, picture taking hating child....
it is now in black and white....hanging in my hallway!

We went to a small water park in a nearby town....
hopefully we will get to go again before the summer is over!

and may even have a picture of her cute therapist...Ginger...she is SO sweet!
I might also tell you how cloth diapering is going....

I know, July 4th was almost two weeks ago but I have been really behind on my posts this summer....
I thought about not posting any 4th pics but some of these are just too cute!!
We had a full day....
starting with a parade in a small town not too far away from where we live!
I love our city but there is just something about the small town atmosphere....
everybody knows everybody and small town values are still very evident!
It was so hot but Kiley didn't seem to care!
Lily on the other hand.....was not so impressed with the heat!
After the parade we went to my parents house for lunch and homemade ice cream...yummy!
Then we went to my inlaws....they live in a community that has a HUGE celebration every year!
Food, live music, bouncers for the kids and fireworks....SO fun for everybody!!

Kiley's are tiny and hard to see but she has fireworks on her big toes....she decided on that one!!
Lily did get left out of the pedicures...her toes are TINY...I did try to paint them tho...it did not work well, which is why there is not a picture of them!!

Also, I forgot to get a picture but....the girls had matching bracelets they wore on this day....
they are SO sweet, I will get a pic of them and post it soon!

Once again, it has been a little while....okay, a LONG while!
Give me a break people....it's summer time and no offense to you sweet readers but...sitting inside blogging is the last thing I want to be doing while my beautiful children are outside playing and having fun!

And I don't know if I mentioned this but Kiley is not going to Mothers Day Out this summer...I thought we both needed a break from a "have to do" schedule...so I have both of the girls home with me everyday and I am trying to make the most of it...especially for Kiley, she only has a little over a month before pre-school starts!!

These pics are from a couple weeks ago....Lily is riding in her buggy....her most favorite outdoor activity....sporting her uber cute onesie from Faith Baby!

Oh my goodness she is having fun!

I think she could just see it piling up with weeds...aka...flowers....and rocks and whatever else she finds when we go on walks...I empty it out daily and never know what I will find!

Yes...it has officially been "one of those days"...
I'm not going to go into the detail because you honestly wouldn't believe me...
YES, it has been that bad!

"It could be worse"....this is what you are probably saying...
and yes...this is true, it could be worse...
but it could also be a whole lot better!

I am going to bed tonite with the hopes that tomorrow will be a new day...a better day!

I hope everyone is having a good week....and not "one of those weeks"...
just remind yourself, it could be worse!

It is times like these that I remind myself how blessed and fortunate I am!

I have a loving husband and two precious beautiful little girls....
and although those two little girls...or at least one of them, i am not going to name names...could be the reason for my day...I am still blessed beyond words to have them...they mean more to me than they will ever know!!

So when it is "one of those days"....stop and think about all the Lord has blessed you with!

Okay...enough with my words of wisdom...I am off to take itty bitty for a ride in her buggy!!
And I might even let big sister tag along on her bike...if she promises to behave...not that I am holding my breath!!

So, here I am...for today anyways!
I have been SO bad about blogging lately!
I take pictures with the intention of posting them in a blog and it just never happens!
We have been doing so much this summer and it would all make for a great blog post...but instead the pics are just sitting in my camera, waiting patiently to be used!

TWO PICTURE POSTS IN ONE DAY!
Don't get too used to it!
I just happen to have a few minutes to post...or maybe I am just making the time to do it...rather than folding my growing pile of clean laundry!

Lily pushing her baby in her stroller! This is the ONLY thing Lily will walk with. We are working on moving it a foot or so in front of her and getting her to take a few steps toward it but it has only worked a couple of times! Soon enough she will be all over the place...but for now she just crawls!

I used to think it was weird to nurse your babies after they were a year old but it is becoming more and more common. We are considering stopping at 18 months though, I KNOW I am sometimes getting used as a pacifier!

Oh my goodness, how I have missed blogging!
Things have been nothing short of madness lately!

*Kiley has finished her first year of preschool!
*Kiley, mammie and I went and had a tea party with Cinderella, the Fairy Godmother and
Prince Charming...followed by seeing the Cinderella production!
*Lily is crawling like a mad woman...but recently took a few steps!
*Lily has become very vocal and says "dada" CONSTANTLY!

And of course, we have been playing outside, jumping on the trampoline, taking walks and visiting Sonic at happy hour daily!

Lily is doing well. Her MRI was postponed for a while due to some complications...rather or not it will be rescheduled it uncertain for now. Her pulse ox readings came back normal...at least the readings they had recorded on her machine...it is so hard keeping that thing on her foot, she wiggles a toe and it starts beeping and reading incorrectly! UGH! She has been having fewer blue spells and is eating...kinda! She is cutting some teeth and is MISERABLE...complete with fussiness, swollen gums and diarrhea...poor angel!

My Kiley will be spending the summer at home with me...we opted not to do mothers day out this summer! I know there are going to be some long days but we will be having play dates, trips to the pool and park and visiting the library and local painting places!

Sorry for my absence but I have now returned! I have many pics to post and will try to work on that tomorrow during nap time!

I have been spending way too much time on etsy recently and have placed my last order tonite! I will be sure to post pics of the girls in their new cute clothes...along with the sites at which they were purchased...you have got to check them out!

I am off to bed before someone needs to nurse...sweet dreams!

It is so gloomy here in the Texas panhandle! Today is day number FIVE of the cloudy/damp weather and we are going crazy being stuck in the house! We want to be out on the swing set, going for walks and blowing bubbles...not sitting inside...BLAH!!

Well other than the rain, we had a really good weekend! Lily has been doing really well the last few days...she has had quite the appetite and has been doing alot better at night! I hate to brag too much, I don't want to jinx us!

Kiley is off at school! I decided not to send her yesterday...we just stayed at home and watched cartoons, it was LOVELY!

I am the queen of making up songs for my girls so I will leave you with this one...

How many of you are on the edge of your seat right now wondering if I am pregnant??
NOT ME SILLY!!! There is no baby in this belly! I think the Lord knows my two precious girls are all that I can handle for the time being!

But there are other people having babies...lots of them! I could not tell you who they are...I do not know them!

When were at the hospital in Lubbock, I heard this lullaby playing over the PA system...out of nowhere and then it stopped! When Lily's nurse came in to check on her I asked what the lullaby was all about. She said that they play it every time a baby is born....how sweet is that!! I heard it several times throughout the morning and everytime I thought about the moments right after my girls were born...sweet memories! THEN....later in the afternoon I heard it....not once, not twice but THREE times in a row....a lady had delivered TRIPLETS! Congrats to her but NO THANKS!!

Sorry for my delayed post! We are finally back home and things are back to the normal madness! And to think I was bored those couple of days we were in the hospital....why on earth was I not enjoying the time to rest and relax???
Anyways, I got a call from Dr. H yesterday about the results from Lily's test. It was confirmed that she does have GERD but it is not such a severe case that it should be causing her to not eat, not gain weight, have blue episodes, have respiratory problems and wake up screaming/arching her back/thowing her head in what appears to be pain. This is what I was afraid of...putting my child through this and still not having an answer....being told that there is something "not right" with your child but not knowing what it is is an AWFUL feeling...I feel so helpless and my heart breaks for my sweet Lily.

Dr. H and Dr. S talked....Dr. S is Lily's pediatrician. Dr. H reviewed Lily's history with Dr. S and thinks that Lily should be looked at from a neurologic standpoint. When she was about 6 months old she started jerking/shaking randomly...for just a few seconds at a time and it was thought that she might be having seizures. She had a CT scan and an EEG done but nothing showed up so it wasn't really worried about. We saw a pedi neurologist in Lubbock and he said he was not really concerned. She has continued to have those every now and then but I have never mentioned it again because they had ruled out seizures and were not worried about it. Well, now they are.

Her specialists and Dr. S think that all of her symptoms have to be related but they aren't sure how.

An MRI has been ordered and while I want them to find out what is going on, I don't want Lily to have to go through anything else. She has gone through so much in her 12 months of life and as her mom, I want to wrap her in my arms, keep her safe, make everything okay and not let one more test be performed. This last procedure she had done broke my heart. I had to take her in to the OR and hold her while they put her to sleep...I was crying and kept my head turned the whole time...I didn't want to see. I don't ever want to have to do that again...it was horrible!

In my eyes Lily is perfect. Now I have to remove my "mommy goggles" and think about it from a medical standpoint. There could be something wrong...but I just don't want to think about it.

Lily is now wearing a pulse ox monitor at night....well she is supposed to be! When she woke up in the middle of the night....it was no longer on her cute big toe...for how long I don't know!

On a brighter note, Lily slept from 10:30 to 3:30, ate and was back asleep by 4:00...good job baby girl!! Some of you are probably wondering why I am still nursing her...especially at night. Lily weighs 17 1/2 pounds and is 27 inches long...she is approximately the size of a 6-7 month old baby...at 12 months. She won't take a bottle or a sippy cup and gets few calories from the small amount of food she eats during the day so breastmilk is still the main source of her nutrition. And I have to take advantage of any time that she will eat, even if it is in the middle of the night.

I have to be honest, I have been strong for months now but I am starting to get worn down. I am exhausted physically, mentally and emotionally.

Please keep us in your prayers. Pray for Josh and I to have strength and wisdom and pray for a miracle for Lily. Pray that she starts eating and growing and that all of her symptoms go away....God can do anything and we believe he can work a miracle in our sweet baby!

It has been an extremely long day for us and if Lily allows, we will be going to bed soon! I can just feel my head hitting the pillow and it feels wonderful!
Our room here is TINY and although we have a bead/couch thing....it only sleeps one person and we are not allowed to have a cot in our room. Since Lily is nursing I have to be with her...not that I would have it any other way...but Josh is not going to be sleeping in here with me :( He had originally planned on sleeping on the floor but our night nurse came and told him that he can sleep on the couch in the PICU waiting room and he jumped at the chance! Happy for him but sad for me...hospitals make me nervous and I hate the thought of being alone here but I will be fine...I hope! I am such a baby!!
Lily had a sponge bath tonite but HATED it...she doesn't want to be held, she doesn't want to sit, she doesn't want to sleep...she is grumpy and restless! I guess I don't blame her, I would feel the same way if I had a tube in my nose!
We are hoping to leave sometime tomorrow, hopefully by noon!
I will post again in the morning with some pics!

FYI....I have had over 50 hits on my blog today! I know that doens't seem like alot but I usually have like 5 a day so this is a big deal! Not that I really care how many people are looking at it BUT...I am confident that the lookers are also prayers and we appreciate the prayers! So far the news we have gotten has been good and we thank God for that...we are now just praying for answers!

We got here last night around 7 and spent the night in a hotel. We were up bright and early this morning, 4:45 to be exact, and got to the hospital around 6. Lily has had her scope and biopsy and her pH probe is in place. Dr. H said that the scope looked "normal"....normal for someone with GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease). We will not find out the results from the biopsy until the end of the week...possibly later.

It has been a beautiful week here in the Texas panhandle! We have spent the majority of the afternoons outside playing on the swing set, in the pool, jumping on the trampoline and blowing bubbles! I LOVE the warm weather! Sorry for my absence with blogging, it has just been too nice to be indoors! I should get caught up over the weekend though, we are supposed to have several days of rain!

Just a little update on what is going on with my itty bitty!
We got the call from the doctor today saying that her procedures are for sure scheduled for Wednesday...April 29th. We will arrive at Lakeside Hospital at 6am and she is scheduled to undergo a scope and biopsy of her esophagus and stomach at 8am. While she is still under anesthesia, Dr. H will place a probe at the opening of her stomach which will stay in for about 24 hours. After she gets out of recovery, she will be moved to Covenant Childrens Hospital. We will stay there until the probe is taken out and will hopefully be released sometime Thursday afternoon.

I have been very hesitant about all of this but after talking to the nurse today I am feeling more confident about it. I have also been reminded of a song that I sing to Lily daily as I am rocking her to sleep.

Lubbock

So it looks like we will be spending a few days in the exciting city of Lubbock sometime in the next couple of weeks! No, no....not for vacation....we are headed to the hospital!!

Lily had her appointment yesterday with her pedi gastro doctor. After reading over her history since he last saw her, asking me a million questions, seeing her tiny size and getting insight on her "blue episodes"(more than likely being caused by aspiration), he came to the conclusion that medicine alone for her reflux is not doing the trick. Most kids are supposed to outgrow this by the time they are one and Lily's only seems to be getting worse. We have been uping the dose of her medicine to match her weight and she is at the max dose but is still so uncomfortalbe, especially at night, not gaining any weight and not eating.

We are not sure of the dates yet but more than likely we will be headed to Lubbock one week from today. Lily will be admitted to the hospital and several tests will be performed under sedation. She is having an esophageal scope and biopsy done to check the anatomy and condition of her esophagus and to make sure there isn't anything else going on. She is also having a ph probe placed at the opening of her stomach that will monitor her reflux episodes and measure the acidity of the fluid that is coming back up. It will be attached to a tube that will come out of her nose....and this is supposed to stay in place for 24 hours. We are hoping and praying that everything goes well and that we get some answers!

I am so torn with all of this. I hate seeing Lily hurt and I know we need to do SOMETHING for her reflux but it also breaks my heart to think about her going through all of this. Please join me in praying for painless procedures for her and peace for me!

Lily just woke up so I am off to get my sweet baby!

One more thing!! Stellan is having heart surgery this morning...as we speak...please say a prayer for him, his family and the medical team involved in his care! His button is on my sidebar if you want to read about his story!

My sweet Kiley is growing up so fast and I am reminded of that daily!
Tonite, we made our weekly trip to Walmart...yay!
Kiley asked daddy if she could buy something with the money in her piggy bank...we give her change as incentives for helping mommy around the house!
We have never even counted the money so we had no clue how much she had! To our surprise, she had 15 dollars....in change....so we dumped it in the Fancy Nancy purse and off to Walmart we went!
Once we got there, we spent over 30 minutes picking out what she wanted...she wanted everything! She finally decided on ANOTHER HORSE!!
All of you who know Kiley know that she LOVES horses, ponies and unicorns!
So yes, we now have another one...without a name...she still hasn't named the two she got for Easter!
She is such a silly girl but I love her SO much! She is growing up to be such a sweet little girl and I am blessed by her daily!

On a side note, itty bitty is feeling better and no longer sounds like a seal! We will be going to Lubbock on Monday to see her Pedi Gastro Specialist...whom we have not seen in sometime. Dr. Scott is concerned about her lack of weight gain and lack of desire to eat, she thinks that her meds might possibly need to be changed....which is like playing Russian Roulett...please be praying for her...and for mommy, I need some sleep!

Itty Bitty

I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter weekend!
Lily's party on Saturday was so fun and Easter Sunday was filled with church, hunting easter eggs, CANDY, big meals and family....we had a great time!!
Lily went to the doctor this morning for her 1 year check up and guess what??? she is TINY!!
I knew she was small....probably because she is still wearing size 2 diapers and 6-9 month clothes but I was shocked when the scale said 17lbs and 4oz....what???? and only 27 1/2 inches long....what?? BUT....her head is a whopping 18 inches! She is in the 3rd percentile for weight, 10th for height and 50th for her head!!
She may be itty bitty but she has a big ole brain....way to go Lily!

The bad news is....she is sick! After spending some time at the hospital getting x-rays....it was determined that she has a sinus infection and inflammation of her airway....which makes her sound like a seal when she coughs and breathes! Back to inhalers and medicine!

I will try and post some pics of the weekend when my baby starts feeling better!

My sweet baby angel is ONE!!! The past year has flown by to say the least!! We are having a big birthday party tonite so I don't have time to write much of a post....I need to try and get Lily's personal, milk-free cake made while she is napping. I just finished rocking her to sleep while singing "Happy Birthday"....and crying! Both happy and sad tears!

Randomosities!!

Is "randomosities" even a real word??? Obviously not since my spell check is putting a bright red line underneath it but for today I am making it one!

I have alot to post about and finally got my sweet husband to upload my pics from the last few weeks but I am busy doing laundry and cleaning the house so I thought I would just post a few pics!

Don't worry though, her cherry lime from Sonic brought a smile to her face! We LOVE happy hour!

The verdict!

As I blogged about yesterday, Lily's face has randomly been turning blue around her mouth and nose...for no apparent reason!
We went to Dr. Scott yesterday....LOVE HER....and she checked my sweet pea out!
She said that her heart sounded wonderful and she was certain that if something was wrong with her heart, we would have noticed it during one of her previous hospital stays. This lifted a huge weight off my shoulders!
She does however, think that it is an oxygen deficiency....but she is unsure what is causing it since there isn't really a pattern as to when it happens. Lily has definitely had her fair share of lung problems but she has been doing really well over the last couple of months so things are kind of confusing! She wants to monitor Lily's oxygen levels so instead of putting her in the hospital to do it there...AWFUL...she has arranged for a local home health care place to set us up with a pulse oximeter to use at home...WONDERFUL!!
I was told to make a journal of her oxygen levels throughout the day while she is doing different things and to most definitely keep an eye on them during her "blue" episodes! Hopefully this will give us some insight as to what is going on!

Please say a prayer for my sweet Lily....over the last few weeks, she has been turning blue around her nose and mouth for no apparent reason. It happens while she's playing, sleeping and eating....but she shows no signs of distress. I decided to google it yesterday....BAD IDEA....all I found was alarming news so I decided to call the doctor....trying not to jump to conclusions as to what is going on with my baby! They most definitely wanted to see her so we are going in today at 2...I would be lying if I said I wasn't a little nervous! Lily really has been through alot in her short life....I am praying that this is nothing to worry about!

Update on my Lily!

So lately I have had several people ask me how Lily is doing with her health problems....it is kind of complicated and long but I told them that I would blog about it so they could get the details. The only problem is, I haven't yet written about it! I have been reading so many blogs about mothers with ill children....maybe ill isn't even the word....seriously sick would be more like it. It just breaks my heart to see what they are going through and although what I have been through with Lily has been hard, we have always been blessed with a wonderful outcome...healing! I just feel like our problems are so minor compared to those but for those of you lucky enough to a completely healthy baby....I am jealous....thank God for that everyday, for it truly is a blessing! So here it is.....

There is a word for it but I cannot pronounce it correctly....much less spell it....so I will just explain it! She has an immune system deficiency. Her body does not produce enough IgG antibodies....which is what your body uses to fight off viral and bacterial infections....so when she is exposed to something her little body cannot fight it off and she gets sick. And when she gets sick, she can't get rid of it because of the low immune system...so something as simple as a cold turns into a three week long lung infection. And let me take a second to explain how Lily reacts to sickness....she completely shuts down! She won't eat, won't nurse....nothing, which makes things that much harder! She was losing weight (up to a pound in just a couple of weeks) and having problems gaining it back. We were sent to a wonderful specialist and he has been helping us get all of this under control and he us amazing! We were told to keep her home....away from everything for a couple months....so we did and things have started to get better...much better! I am proud to report that Lily has been well for about two months....with a few fevers here and there but nothing major! She has also gained a little weight....well, at least she hasn't lost any! Praise the Lord, all of this is such an answered prayer for me! You have no idea how hard it is to see your baby constantly sick...I felt so completely helpless!

She is also dealing with another problem involving her immune system. Her body has not accepted her vaccinations ...which means she could easily catch one of the serious diseases she is supposed to be immune to...thanks to modern day science! I sometimes find myself consumed thinking about all of this....sometimes to the point of obsession! I panic if I hear someone cough while we are out at a restuarant or at Target (we have recently been given the okay to start taking Lily out at our discretion). I freak out if Kiley touches Lily before she her hands are clean and I am constantly reminding my husband to wash his hands the second he walks in the door...I just don't feel like we can risk her getting sick! I recently posted about Lily going to the church nursery for the first time....well it will be the last for a while, she ended up with a fever for a few days after and I can't help but think she was exposed to something....maybe we will try again here in a few months!

We will be returning to the specialist after Lily turns one and they will do blood tests to check her antibody levels and to see if there has been any change in her bodies response to her vaccinations. If things are not improving like they would like, we have the option of antibody infusions through an IV and larger quantities of the vaccines to see if her body will accept them....but I am just praying that none of this has to be done! We are so ready for her to be a healthy little baby and I feel a peace about this...God is healing her, I just know it!

I guess that is about all! Please continue to keep her in your prayers but also thank God for what he has already done in her healing process! And please lift up all the babies and their families who are struggling, my heart truly goes out to them!

Spring Break Recap!

Things have been crazy lately! Kiley was on Spring Break last week and it flew by, we were busy every day but definitely found time for a little fun! As usual, we spent some time at mammie and pa's house...pa hired me for a few days to do some yard work, which was surprisingly stress relieving! We also made our way to a few local parks, we just couldn't miss out on the nice weather!

We are back to our normal routine this week, which has been hard for all of us to adjust to! Kiley has her first soccer game on Thursday and I'm not sure who is more excited, her or daddy!! Josh played/still plays soccer and he is happy that his little girl is following in his footsteps...and Kiley is excited that she gets to play at the same indoor arena that daddy plays in!

Lily has had a few "firsts" this past week! She stood up by herself for about 30 seconds on Thursday, but she had no idea she was doing it...she was busy playing with her toy! Also, she slept through the night THREE nights in a row!! She broke the trend last night but still did well, only waking up once to nurse! I am feeling like a new and refreshed mommy!

And last, we got a puppy!!! Kiley has been wanting one for quite some time now but Josh was reluctant to give in...until now! We got a Cairn Terrier, which is the dog from Wizzard of Oz, and she is just too sweet! Her name is Daisy....we let Kiley pick it out....and this is the first name that was agreeable to all of us! (She wanted to call her Lily the Rose Flower....where she came up with that I have no idea, but I just couldn't see myself yelling that from the back porch at 3 in the morning, not to mention, her sisters name is Lily....can you say confusing!!)

Quickie!

Hello everyone! It seems like it has been forever since I've posted....sorry about that! This one is going to have to be a quickie...Lily is getting restless in the bed and will be waking up any minute and Kiley is on pre-school spring break so I have my hands full!

I have a new accomplishment to blog about....I put Lily in the church nursery for the first time yesterday, I thought it would be nice to actually listen to a sermon, rather than playing peek a boo or patty cake in the hallway to keep the little princess quiet!

I was so proud of myself but kind of nervous too so I made sure that the pager was in my hands at all times....after about 15 minutes it went off!! WHAT??? As I open the doors of the sanctuary I hear her screaming (moms just KNOW when it is their baby crying) and trust me when I say that the nursery is not exactly close to the sanctuary....she was that upset! I rushed to the nursery and I was greeted with the words, "We hated to page you since this is your first time to leave her but she is so upset she is having a hard time breathing and we can't get her to calm down"....she was hyperventilating! Can you say MOMMY'S GIRL?!?!

I was finally able to get her to calm down after I resorted to the usual patty cake and peek a boo games....we were back in our element (the sanctuary hallway)! Maybe we will attempt the nursery again next week...MAYBE!

Well that is my story...really the only exciting thing that happened this weekend, unless you consider spending about $500 dollars on groceries and miscellaneous things at Walmart, Sams and Target exciting....I don't, I think it is rather depressing! BUT...you should see my fridge, freezer and pantry...we are stocked up on everything and I LOVE that feeling!

I hope everyone had a good weekend and is planning on enjoying spring break! You will probably find us at a few of the local parks and possibly at an ice cream store or two! I will try and snap a few cute pics to post!

For those of you nursed your babies, this is probably a term that you are familiar with!

Well, I had heard of it and felt very sorry for the women that got it but thought I would never come down with it, after all....I now consider myself a breastfeeding professional since we have been doing this for ten months! WRONG!! I have it and I am miserable! I have a knot the size of a golf ball that is so tender and no matter what part of my body I move....it causes me pain! I also have a low grade fever and a headache to seal the deal....UGH!! I have stories to tell and pictures to post but for now the baby is sleeping and I am going to rest....maybe tomorrow I will grace you with my presence again!

So today was a day full of randomness....is that a real word???

First of all, I got to go to church for the first time in about 2 months. We got an "okay" report on Friday from Lily's specialist so we decided it would be okay to venture out in public and join Josh and Kiley at church...Lily is now more vocal than she was the last time we were there so we spent the majority of the time in the hallway listening to the sermon...oh well, it was nice just to be there!

This however was not my attitude at the beginning of our adventure. I was running behind this morning, imagine that, and decided that I would have to put my makeup on in the car. I sat it next to the diaper bag so I would remember to grab it on my way out the door. We got the kiddos loaded up and off we went....WITH the diaper bag but WITHOUT my makeup! I realized this as we were already out of our neighborhood and getting onto the highway. I frantically told my husband and he asked me if we needed to turn around and my response was ..."um, most definitely"....he then looked at the clock and said, "sorry babe, we are running late, you look fine without it"!!! WHAT???????? Nice of him to say but not what I wanted to hear at the time! Needless to say I was not in a good mood....I was able to find some powder and lop gloss in the diaper bag but I was definitely lacking color on my cheeks and my eyes looked so...BLAH!! Don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with going without makeup....I am proud to say that I rarely put it on BUT....I had showered, fixed my hair and was nicely dressed...which happens about once a week and I wanted to feel pretty! Even though I didn't have any place to go for the rest of the day...I immediately put the makeup on when we returned home...I wanted my husband to see that I can still look like the girl he married a few years ago and not just a frumpy stay at home mom!

I have an uber cute story to tell about my Kiley Ann! She has an obsession with horses and has several stuffed ones she sleeps with, two in particular are her favorites! She wet the bed last night and, of course, her two favorite horses got pee pee on them! I threw them in the washer this afternoon and saying it was traumatic on her is an understatement! I was trying to be a good mom so as soon as they were clean I put them in the dryer, even though the tag said to let them air dry...that would have taken way too long and I did not want her to have to sleep with wet horses! About an hour later the dryer went off and WOW....

Kiley: (eyes huge) "What happened to my horses hair"?

Mommy: "Isn't it pretty? Mommy loves it!" (The hair that was once soft and fluffy is now matted, it looks like the horses have hair nets on, but Kiley will go along with pretty much anything if I am convincing enough)

Kiley: "Yes mommy, it is beautiful! I'm glad you like it too!"

Kiley then goes running down the hall to show daddy her "pretty" horses. She said "look daddy" and with hesitance in his voice he says "oh, what did mommy do" and my sweet kiley replies "mommy made my horses pretty, do you like them?"......all the while, I am standing behind Kiley silently coaching Josh in what to say so that he does not give her any clue that I have ruined her horses! Honestly...I feel AWFUL, not just becuase I ruined them but because she has no idea! I am determined to find her a new one tomorrow while she is at school! For now, she is cuddling with her horses....bad hair and all!

I hope everyone has had a wonderful weekend! Josh, Lily and I took a trip to Lubbock for Lily's appointment with her immunologist and had a nice couple of days away....I will post pictures and will fill you in on the appointment tomorrow! For now I am off to bed!

I have had several people tell me that they are unable to leave comments on my blog and I tired this morning and was unsuccessful as well...I have no idea how to fix the problem.

So I know that you can't comment on here and tell me how to fix it but for those of you who are my facebook or myspace friends...can you help me out??? I would love to be able to read sweet comments but I have obviously done something wrong!! I told you I was a computer idiot sometimes!

Okay, for those of you who are following my blog and read my first post...I said that the hardest part was going to be finding time to actually sit down and write and one month into it...my posts are becoming far and few between! What can I say, I feel so behind with everything from cleaning and laundry to my Bible study and working on Lily's scrap book! I guess we could sum it up by saying that there is just not enough of me to go around!!

On a positive note...I added a counter to the bottom of my blog a few days ago because I was curious to see if anyone was even reading it and the answer is YES...someone out there actually finds my life interesting! And to all of my family who reads this, I hope you enjoy keeping up with what is going on in our lives....I will try to be better about keeping it updated!

We had a wonderful Valentines weekend! Friday night I cooked a heart shaped pizza and Kiley and I made heart cookies for dessert, it was a hit with the whole family! Josh had to work on Saturday so we went to see my parents for a while. Josh and I were able to go out on Saturday night and it was so great to finally have some time to ourselves! We went to one of my favorite restaurants and I had some wonderful sushi! We spent Sunday working on our bathroom that we are currently re-doing....what a disaster! It is going to be great once it is all done but I HATE chaos and that is exactly what our room looks like, absolute chaos! I will post pics of it once it is done...that way all of you can see how much of a handy man my hubby is!

I guess that is about it for now, but I do have pics this time!

I could seriously eat this sweet face up....she is SO precious....when she wants to be!! I was thinking the other day about how fast she is growing up....it is sometimes more than my heart can handle!

This picture was taken at my parents house, she picked out the outfit! I am very picky about what Kiley wears in public but when we are at home, she can wear whatever she wants! Her little belly is sticking out like Winnie the Pooh...LOVE, LOVE, LOVE her!!

This is one of Lily's favorite faces! If there were sound with this picture most of you would be holding your ears...she has the loudest squeal I have ever heard. She definitely wants to be noticed by everyone in the room!

And this is my little angel right now! I love sleeping baby faces and Lily has the cutest...of course I am partial! I could hold her for hours and watch her sleep...this one is absolutely priceless to me!

So I will try to post again soon! Lily goes back to her specialist on Friday so if you think about it say a quick prayer for her! We are hoping we get a good report, maybe her immune system is strong enough now that we can start going out in public again, I am pretty tired of being a hermit!! She hasn't been sick in a little over a month but she also hasn't been anywhere or exposed to anything so....we will just have to see! We did go to her pediatrician on Monday for a weight check and she gained a little over a pound in about 7 weeks which is wonderful for her...she is now 17 pounds...extremely tiny for her age but at least she gained weight! Good Job Lily Bug!

I am going to take advantage of that fact that my babies are sleeping and I am off to bed...I'm sure Lily will be awake to nurse in a few hours!

Maybe the title of my post should have been "one of those WEEKS" instead of "one of those DAYS"!

I'm sure all you moms know what I am talking about! Lily seems to be extra fussy and Kiley seems to be extra stubborn! I feel extra tired and the usual housework seems extremely overwhelming! WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME!?!?

I think it is called exhaustion! Lily has yet to sleep through the night....and she is 10 months old today (tear)!! I hate to admit it but I am one of those people who need their sleep, I do not function well on minimal sleep....which is what I have been getting for TEN months! This is so foreign to me, my Kiley was a sleeper...its crazy how your kids can be SO opposite! Lily is still breastfeeding so I am hoping that when we put an end to that in a few months she will start to sleep better!

Not much else is going on...Kiley has "Dads and Donuts" tomorrow morning at pre-school and she is so excited, I think daddy is too! Lily has gone about a month without being sick, which is a huge praise! We go back to her specialist next week for a follow up and hopefully we will receive good news!

I am going to try and get a quick shower while Lily is asleep and Kiley is at school! I know a post would not be complete without pictures so I will post a few random ones!

I should probably be getting ready to go to my womens bible study instead of blogging but I wanted to post some pictures while I had a few minutes....Lily is still sleeping and Kiley is off to pre-school!!

Here is sweet Kiley posing for me in her "K" shirt...isn't it precious??? My friend Stacy made this for her and I am crazy about it! I absolutely love anything with monogramming or initials on it!

And here I am with Miss Lily in her "L" onesie! The girls actually wore them at the same time but it is next to impossible to get a good picture of both of them simultaneously so I decided that separate pictures would be just fine! If you notice, Lily is less than thrilled to be taking this pic with me, she was on the floor playing with her cousin and I interrupted....we love you Izzy!!

This is a pic from last week when it iced/snowed! There wasn't really enough snow to play in but Kiley was insistent on going outside so I bundled her up and out she went! Do you see the little pile of snow next to Kiley??? That is her "snow mountain"...it took her quite a while to build....because we didn't have very much snow....but she was so proud of it!!

Here are Lily and Piper....my friend Tiffany's little girl! They were born two days apart and are becoming good friends. They spend most of their time sharing puffs and exchanging chew toys....yummy!!

And this is the ever so fun bathtime! This was Lily's first bubble bath and she loved it! My two girls are so precious, I am so blessed by them everyday!

I'm off to get ready before Lily wakes up!

YUMMY!!!

This casserole is something that was brought to me by my sweet friend April after I had Lily and it has become a favorite around our house!! It is quick, easy and makes quite a bit so I put it in 2 separate pyrex dishes, one goes in the oven and the other in the freezer to pull out when I am in a hurry! Hope ya'll enjoy this as much as we do!!

Green Bean Chicken and Rice

3 cups cooked/chopped chicken breast or 2 cans of chicken

1 pkg Instant Uncle Bens Long Grain Wild Rice

1/4 cup mayo

1/2 chopped onion

1 can cream of celery soup

1 can cream of chicken soup

1 can french style green beans

1 large can French Fried Onions

Cook the rice according to the directions on the box. Combine all the ingredients, except for the French Fried Onions, with the rice and mix well. Place in a 13x9 dish or two 8x8 dishes. Bake on 350 for about 30 minutes. Top with French Fried Onions and let brown for a few minutes.

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! We were super busy but I had the camera to capture some sweet pictures of my cuties!

Josh and I went to a marriage seminar Friday night and Saturday morning, it was wonderful! My parents came to the house and watched the girls, here is Miss Lily playing with one of her sisters ponies....right before Kiley came and took it away! One of these days she is going to learn to share...I hope!!

Happy Superbowl Sunday! We went to my in-laws Sunday night to watch the game and EAT EAT EAT!! I seriously think Josh and I gained 10 pounds, everything was SO good! And the game, well I didn't really watch it but some of the commercials were great!

And her is my uber cute Kiley Ann...I love her so much! Isn't her hat adorable?? Lily has one as well!

I need to play "catch up" on my picture posting so I will try to do that this afternoon when Lily is napping, Kiley is staying the day with mammie and I will hopefully have some free time!

Baby It's Cold Outside!!

So it finally decided to get cold outside and I couldn't be happier....I absolutely love cold weather! We got ice, sleet and a little bit of snow, which meant no pre-school for Kiley, we spent the day cuddling by the fire, drinking "hot chocolate milk", making tents and playing in the snow...when daddy got home from work!

Kiley and I made snow ice cream and it was delicious, but my suspicious husband wouldn't even taste it! Lily wanted to play in the snow as well but since she has just started crawling that was out of the question....those little chubby legs would have froze! I got some cute pics that I am definitely going to post tonite...I PROMISE!

Today things are back to normal, Kiley went to school and Lily and I went to my bible study. We went to my moms for lunch, a weekly tradition....although Kiley would prefer it be a daily tradition...she LOVES mammie!! The girls are now resting....Kiley on the couch with her movie and Lily fast asleep in her room!! Kiley hasn't taken a nap in about a year....I have given up on trying, it just isn't worth the fight! Besides, she is 4 now and like she tells me, "mom, four year old girls don't need naps"...what a little stinker!

I guess that is about it, nothing too interesting to post about. I will get some pics up later tonite!

Keep Lily in your prayers, she is starting to get congested again and once it starts it always ends in a bad lung infection....often resulting in a stay in the hospital....no fun! I am so ready for my sweet baby to stay well!

Weekend Getaway!

My husband left on Friday to go skiing with his brother so the girls and I packed up and headed to my parents house!! My parents were so sweet to let us spend the weekend with them...I know that having their grandbabies at their house is so fun for them and I appreciate the help. My mom still spoils me, just like she did before I became a wife and mommy...I would be lying if I said I didn't enjoy it!! My parents cooked for us, took us shopping and took us out to dinner....we were queens for the weekend! Oh, and did I mention that I got to take a shower TWO consecutive days in a row....something that NEVER happens....and my mom did my laundry!

Well my husband is coming back tonite so it is back to reality for me....laundry, cleaning and cooking.....all things that I enjoy being able to do....but the break was nice! I took some super cute pics and will post them once I get home!

We have a chance of snow this week and I am so excited....I will be keeping my fingers crossed!

What a Beautiful Day!

I am having a hard time believing it is January, it feels more like April! It was so nice yesterday so the girls and I decided to venture out to the park with my good friend Krystin and her little boy. It was great to let Kiley run around and play....I'm pretty sure she hates being stuck in the house all winter! It was also nice for Lily and I to get out since we have to be super cautious about where Lily goes....I will get to that in a sec! So I took some pics but they are still on my camera and I'm not sure how to get them off....I will suck it up, ask my husband for help tonite and post some tomorrow!

About Lily....she has been sick for the majority of the last 5 months....mainly with lung infections. We have been in and out of the hospital and have seen several specialist. She has been diagnosed with Reactive Airway Disease...I'm not sure exactly how to explain it but in order to keep it under control she is on steriods, using inhalers and doing breathing treatments...several times a day! She also has an immune system disorder...she doesn't produce enough immunities that fight viral and bacterial infections so if she is exposed to ANYTHING her little body can't fight it off and she gets sick! We have seen a specialist about this and they are still in the process of trying to get it under control but for now I have had to quit work to stay home with her and we are pretty much confined to our house. I did well with this for about 2 days! It is so hard not being able to get out and run errands or go to the store...I am still adjusting but I will do anything to keep my baby well! Please keep her in your prayers!

As I have mentioned, I have a 4 year old little girl! I love her more than anything but sometimes she acts like she is 14....not 4! She is sassy, she talks back to me and has this attitude twice the size of her little body! I am just beside myself sometimes, I don't know where this has come from.

You can't see any attitude in this pic can you???

On the other hand, she can be the sweetest and most loving little girl! She has the biggest heart and is so passionate about life....which is one of the things I love about her the most!

I was putting her to bed last night and she asked me if I wanted to dream with her....she told me to close my eyes with her and we could dream together!! It's things like that that just melt my heart!

Baby Lily is still young to have an attitude but I am already convinced that she is going to give me a run for my money as well! My husband will tell you otherwise but I can already see a little temper that is cute now but may turn into a monster when she gets a little older!

Well, I am off to make beds, do laundry and try to keep the house in some sort of order!

Okay, so I am kinda new to this whole blogging thing but have recently become a full time stay at home mom and thought this would be fun.....we'll see how good I am at keeping it updated! I have a 4 year old and a 9 month old so I definitely have some fun things to write about but the problem is going to be finding the time to do it!

Anyways, I am having some issues making my blog page pretty! I will admit, I can be a computer idiot sometimes but for the time being I have too much pride to ask my husband for help so maybe someone on here can lend a helping hand...all I want is a cute page...is that too much to ask???? Any advice would be much appreciated!

Anyone want to see a pic of my two cuties?? Well I will post one if I can figure it out but if there isn't one on here, sorry...I may need help with that too! The big one is Kiley and the itty bitty one is Lily, they are the most precious things to me!
